Simone Biles

Simone Biles is an American gymnast. Born on March 14th in 1997, Columbus, Ohio U.S.A. Biles was the very first American female gymnast to win four gold medals during a single Games. At Rio de Janeiro, she was also the first female to have won consecutive World All-around Championships (2013-15). Biles along with her younger sister Adria were adopted from Ronald Biles and Nellie Biles' grandparents in Spring Texas (in the Houston region) and grew up in the Houston area. Simone first became interested in the sport of gymnastics at age six. The coach Aimee Borman took Biles to Bannon's Gymnastix, where they went to a field trip. Biles took home a gold medal in vault and floor at the Women's Junior Olympic National Championships of the year 2010 prior to her first appearance at the very top of the competition. Less than two years later she dominated the sport. Her consistency, her vivacious attitude and level of effort in her four events -- vault uneven bars balance beam floor exercise and floor exercise -- made her out from the rest of the athletes.
